The Isla Vista Compost Collective (IVCC) is a student run residential composting service for Isla Vista. So far, the IVCC has collected 50,930 pounds of compost from 134 houses in Isla Vista. The composting service is free, and the IVCC also services events to make them more sustainable by picking up their compost.
How Does it Work?
Customers are given a bucket, which you fill with all your food scraps during the week! On pickup day, you leave the bucket in your driveway or front yard, and your dirt rider comes and picks it up, and leaves an empty bucket in its place. Dirt riders then sort the compost an drop it off at local gardens in IV. If you are interested in their services it's easy to apply online on their website!
